1. Do we need to involve people in the implementation of robotization with 100% of their work time?

Answer: There is no such obligation. If the Rent-a-Robot model is selected, full support for the operation of the robot, its updating and maintenance is transferred to the site of the external supplier. However, it is worth appointing a leader among employees forming hybrid teams who will be responsible for efficient communication in the project.

2. Does an employee have to constantly control the work of a running robot?

Answer: No. The robot can work even at night, so it is difficult to imagine continuous human control. A well-prepared Digital Teammates will do his job, and in case of problems, he will automatically notify the Robo Shepherd who will take care of restoring the robot to work.

3. How important are the safety aspects during building robots?

Answer: The work of the robot is based on mapping the activities normally performed by a human. They work on the same data as the employee – so they must have access to it. Ensuring an appropriate level of safety is therefore one of the key issues in a robotization project. Therefore, it is worth developing a dedicated security policy for robots.

4. Do robots work ethically?

Answer: The robot works strictly according to the instructions or the map of the process being performed. This means that there is no possibility of unethical actions as long as the instructions do not contain them. In certain situations, an employee may unethically go beyond the procedure, which is impossible with a robot.

5. How is BluePrism different from UiPath?

Answer: Probably the producers of both platforms are able to prove that they are completely different products, but from the utility point of view, both tools are safe, stable and allow for effective robotization without the need for intensive coding. The vast majority of the functions used on a daily basis have their equivalents in both platforms.

6. What is “debugging”?

Answer: Debugging is the process of systematically reducing the number of errors in the robot’s code. This task usually consists of a controlled execution of activities under the supervision of a robot supervisor, eg a Robo Shepherd.

7. How is Process First different from People First?

Answer: “Process First” is the so-called a classic approach that focuses on improving the efficiency, quality, speed of the process and reducing its costs. People First completely reevaluates the importance scheme and puts employees first. This is due to the simple observation that employees who feel valued and enjoy their job do it better.

8. Why do robotization projects often fail?

Answer: Most often, companies try to robotize incorrect processes, do not perform appropriate acceptance tests, do not document and monitor the implementation of robots.

9. Is a robot the same as a business process?

Answer: No. The robot rarely performs a full business process, but it can support companies in automating the components of various business processes.

10. Is it possible to robotise business processes for free?

Answer: The RPA market already has many tools that can be used by companies to automate business processes. This area is constantly growing. For businesses, there are both very expensive, cheap and completely free solutions. However, careful attention should be paid to the license provisions, because not every free tool can actually be implemented in the company for free.

11. In which sectors of the company can robots be implemented?

Answer: Most often, robots are implemented in the company’s back-office – in such departments as accounting, HR, logistics and purchasing. However, they can also be implemented more and more often in customer service departments and at the front-office of enterprises.

12. What is TCA?

Answer: TCA, or Total Cost of Automation – is the total cost of owning robots in the company. TCA includes direct and indirect costs as well as lost potential benefits.
